Augustus Jackson was a confectioner and former White House chef who helped transform the production of ice cream in the 19th century and became known as the “Father of Ice Cream”. Jackson improved the freezing process by adding salt to ice, creating a smoother texture. He also popularized flavors like “Vanilla and Strawberry” and sold it in tin containers to parlors for $1 per quart - making ice cream more accessible to the public. Jackson’s innovations changed ice cream from an elite delicacy into a treat everyone could enjoy.

Alfred L. Calle invented the “Ice Cream Mold and Disher”, a tool that made scooping ice cream easier and more efficient. It was a durable, built-in scraper design that is still used today - we call it the “Ice Cream Scooper”.
